Shantui SD22 is the most popular bulldozer in our African and SE Asian export markets. Power-to-price ratio is unmatched, parts availability is dense, and qualified mechanics are easy to source locally. Caterpillar (D6G in the light class, D8T in the heavy class) wins on resale value and longer service intervals — pick it if you operate a fleet of 3+ and amortize the brand premium across higher utilization.
Critical. Replacing a worn undercarriage (tracks, rollers, sprockets, idlers) on a 30-ton dozer is a major cost item — sometimes more than the residual price difference between two listings. We measure pin/bushing wear, track tension, sprocket teeth profile, and roller seal integrity on every unit. The numbers go in the inspection report.
If you're working on hard ground (rocky terrain, frozen soil, mining benches), yes — order the 3-tooth ripper at the same time. Attachments shipped separately later cost about 40% more in freight per kilogram. Single-tooth rippers fit the SD16 light class; three-tooth rippers come standard on SD22 and SD32.
